It all started with a 159-run opening partnership between Rhys McKenna (50) and Meg Lanning who scored 135 off 74 with 22 fours and 4 sixes on her own. The Stars scored 67 off the last 5 overs to finish with the enormous total of 219. The Sixers had no chance to reply after their top order was decimated by Kim Garth, she took 4 wickets for 3 runs in her two overs. Despite a brief rain delay, play eventually resumed and the Stars finished the job, bowling the Sixers out for just 42. On any other day, Garth would have a case for Player of the Match but tonight's game belonged to the unstoppable Meg Lanning. That's a great win for the Stars' season, keeping them in the mix to play Finals and a healthy boost to their Net Run Rate. It's a short turnaround for the Sixers, who play the undefeated Hurricanes in Hobart on Saturday.
