Wicket. OUT! Caught. Hayley Silver-Holmes to Bonnie Berry. Length ball, Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to mid on, caught by Wilson. The Hobart Hurricanes go back-to-back in the T20 Spring Challenge! From the moment Lizelle Lee crunched the first ball through cover for four, this game was all one-way traffic. Sent in to bat first, the Hurricanes got the start they needed, with Lee smashing six boundaries in the first three overs and the score racing to 0/32. Once both openers were removed, Carey (34) and Villani (61 off 29 balls) kept the scoreboard ticking until the latter put the foot down during the Power Surge. The pair scored 0/34 from those two overs and kept the momentum going. Their 89-run partnership came to an end in the 15th over, and Saville found the boundary 5 more times to inflate their 20-over total to 193. With all the momentum going into the second innings, the Hurricanes made light work of Brisbane's top order, taking three valuable powerplay wickets. Chasing such an enormous target, the Heat never recovered and eventually were all out for 105. Hobart retain their title of T20 Spring Challenge champions, with captain Elyse Villani collecting the Player of the Match award for a spectacular innings which set up the win for her side. Tournament leading run-scorer Maddie Penna will share the honour of Player of the Tournament with Maitlan Brown, who took 7 wickets alongside some crucial batting cameos for the Sixers.
