He played with an air of disdain especially against the opening quicks in Steketee and Prestwidge. Short was ably supported by a clinical Marcus Harris who never looked troubled as they combined for a 194 run partnership. This is a vital victory for Victoria as they also gain a pivotal bonus point and a boost to their lackluster net run rate. Other than Sam Heazlett's fighting century at the top of the order, Queensland don't have much to celebrate as this is a catastrophic loss for them. Despite the multitude of individual batting achievements, Fergus O'Neill is the Player of the Match for his outstanding unchanged spell of 4/22 up front this afternoon.
